I. Overview
1.1 Introduction
Turn to Turn Surge Impulse Tester(i.e. Digital interturn test instrument ) can efficiently carry out non-destructive electrical test on the component with some coil windings. Its principle is to apply the same pulse voltage on both coil winding under test and standard one, and then compare their transient waveforms, so as to test the quality of coil winding under test. Transient waveform (i.e. waveform of the damped oscillation occurring in the coil) can judge this winding’s inductance, quality factor, coil turn difference and interturn short circuit; if the winding is equipped with a core, it also can judge its material difference and so on. In the case of applying high-voltage pulse, the occurrence of corona discharge can also judge its poor insulation. In a word, for various elements to indicate the coil quality, their inspection can be completed within a short period of time.
